Mathematics Tutoring - - - - - - - - - - - Job Summary: Sanford
Federal, Inc. is currently seeking a Mathematics Tutoring for
Baltimore County Public Schools to provide One-on-One and/or small
group mathematics tutoring services to students in grades 6 -8.
Services are expected to be held at selected school buildings, or
an alternative offsite location with the option of virtual tutoring
as needed. BCPS proposes a multi-year engagement focused on
accelerating student growth to meet the Maryland College and Career
Readiness standards.Duties:Provide students in Grade 6 - 8,
experiencing homelessness, with access to mathematics tutoring
supports. Services will be provided beyond the school day and
success will be measured using pre and post assessment results.
Projects may include but may not be limited to the following
activities:
Academic Enrichment.Out of School
Time Programming- programs that allow students to apply mathematics
skills in coordination with other content areas such as science,
ELA, etc. Services will also allow opportunities for students to
implement strategies that reinforce resilience.Building Student
Resilience.Virtual and In-Person Tutoring Services mathematics
tutoring services that occur in person or virtually, if needed, and
address the students specific deficit math skills and are aligned
to grade level state standards. Pre-exposure to upcoming
mathematics skills may also be considered as well as tutoring
supports for advanced learns to maintain proficiency in advanced
mathematics courses.Diagnostic Services- services that will
determine a students specific areas of strength and identify
specific skill and standards deficits. This data will be used to
develop an individualized student tutoring plan.Candidate(s) must
sign the BCPS Student Data Privacy Agreement and have access to
operating virtual programming using the Google Meets platform if
virtual supports will be needed. Virtual program supports will be
last resort depending on family needs and health metrics. -BCPS
Responsibilities:Provide orientation as to policies and procedures,
scheduling/routine, student-related indications, and precautions.
Identify and provide documentation forms including the use of
technology to support mentoring services.Access to and parking at
BCPS facilities.Requirements:
Administer student pre assessments to
develop individualized tutoring plans that address deficit
prerequisite skills and grade level standards.Facilitate one on one
or two to one small group tutoring services using individualized
tutoring plans.Recruit and hire tutors that meet the minimum
requirements which include a high school diploma or GED and at
least 3 years of tutoring experience.Supply tutors with all
tutoring materials and supplies to conduct tutoring in person or
using the Google Meets Platform.Cover the cost of all
fingerprinting and tutoring travel cost (if applicable) for
tutors.Provide families with interim progress reports that indicate
the progress students have made toward successfully meeting goals
listed in the students individual tutoring plan.Administer
post-assessments to measure progress at the conclusion of tutoring
services.Provide a post tutoring report that summarizes the number
of sessions - - completed, student attendance information, student
progress on prerequisite skills and grade level standards, and a
brief written summary that offers commendations and recommendations
