VirginiaDigital Forensics Investigator Summary: Capital One is
looking for a Digital Forensic Investigator (DFI) to join the Cyber
Insider Threat and Technical Investigations eDiscovery Team. The
role will work closely with other lines of business to support
investigations utilizing multiple applications across electronic
devices such as laptops, workstations, servers, cell phones,
document management systems, email archives, and multi-cloud
environments. Personnel in this role investigate, collect,
preserve, analyze, manage, and report on response inquiries related
to legal and internal enterprise investigation requests. The
position tasks include, but are not limited to: creating and
maintaining investigation and incident tracking information;
planning, coordinating, performing, and managing investigation
response activities; the collection, preservation, processing, and
transfer of data; application, workflow, user, and infrastructure
administration; drafting and presenting detailed investigative
reports and summaries; metrics and capacity reporting and
forecasting; and investigation analysis tasks, including examining
all available information, and supporting evidence or artifacts
collected related to investigation and discovery requests;
supporting and maintaining forensic labs and infrastructure;
development and validation testing of new and existing forensic
collection and preservation processes. General
Responsibilities:
- Creating and maintaining investigation and incident tracking
information
- Conducting internal investigations through the use of computer
forensics technologies and philosophies
- Effectively and professionally secure handling and collection
of digital evidence
- Assisting in incident response through the support of forensics
evidence
- Managing multiple cases and prioritizing workload
- Presenting detailed investigative reports and summaries
- Maintaining the highest level of confidentiality with respect
to data
- Exercise sound technical, interpersonal and organizational
judgment while evaluating and solving complex problems.
- Engage with associates across the Capital One enterprise
including the Cybersecurity Operations Center (CSOC) and Cyber
Threat Intelligence (CTI) teams as necessary
- Exercise discretion and professionalism when conducting
internal investigations and inquiries
- Develop, follow, and maintain playbooks which provide a visual
depiction of various operational investigative workflows
- Identify and enhance processes where automation has the
potential to improve efficiency Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in fields such as Computer Science,
Information Systems, and Engineering, law enforcement or military
experience
- At least 1 of the following recognized industry certifications
(or equivalent): CFCE, CCE, GCIA, GCIH, Security+, CFCE, EnCE,
CISSP. Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's Degree in fields such as Computer Science, Information
Systems, and Engineering or military experience
- At least 2 year of technical experience as Digital Forensic
Investigator, Insider Threat, Security Operations Center or
supporting an Incident Response Team At this time, Capital One will
