The Penn State World Campus Bursar Office is searching for an Accountant 2 to work in a fast-paced student-centric office. It takes extraordinary accuracy, remarkable attention to detail, the ability to work in a team based environment as well as be able to provide exceptional customer service to our variety of units. If this sounds like you, then we encourage you to apply! A successful candidate must be a self-starter who enjoys communicating by phone and email to our online students. Candidate must have financial/accounting/bookkeeping experience, and a strong background in Accounts Receivable, and proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite of applications.

Responsibilities include:

  • Performing various account reconciliations

  • Recognizing discrepancies and suggesting appropriate corrective actions

  • Analyzing for accuracy and completeness on both student accounts and corporate accounts

Critical skills for this position include:

  • Being proactive

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities

  • Use sound judgment and analytical thinking skills

The successful applicant should possess exemplary interpersonal skills and demonstrate a genuine appreciation for working with diverse audiences. Typically requires a Bachelor's Degree and 2 years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
