The Embedded Forensics and Reverse Engineering Department of the Cyber and Innovation Division within the Communications, Information, and Navigation Office (CINO) at Penn State University's Applied Research Lab is seeking an entry-level, versatile Engineer to support projects within the department. The department is involved in all aspects of cyber including the formulation of offensive techniques in both the embedded and enterprise worlds, vulnerability studies, reverse engineering and cyber tool development.

Responsibilities of this position include:

  • FPGA Development
  • Hardware Design
  • Software Development
  • Vulnerability Research
  • Exploit development
  • Offensive Tool Development
  • Reverse Engineering

Typically requires a Bachelor's degree in an Engineering or Science based discipline. A degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or Electrical Engineering is preferred.

Requirements of this position include:

  • Knowledge of Vivado and the Zynq SoM
  • Proficiency in the use of logic analyzers.

Preferred experience of this position includes:

  • Writing software in Python, JAVA, C/C++ and/or assembly language
  • Understanding of file formats such as Intel HEX and/or Motorola S-Records and any FPGA files.
