Penn State Career Services is seeking applicants for an Administrative Support Assistant Level 2 role to serve as our main receptionist within Bank of America Career Services Center. Under the supervision of the Associate Director of Career Counseling, the main receptionist greets, welcomes, and orients visitors to a range of programs, events, and services housed within Bank of America Career Services Center. Guests include students who are seeking career counseling assistance, student organizations and classes visiting in order to attend workshops and programs, employers who are visiting in order to recruit students, and a range of faculty and staff colleagues.

This position requires an enthusiastic and positive approach to customer service, the ability to anticipate and meet the needs of various guests, and careful attention to detail while working within a team environment. Applicants should desire a position where they will provide information about a range of events and services to a diverse array of stakeholders. Reception services include meeting people in-person and also providing assistance through receiving and responding to telephone calls. The person in this role will work closely with and offer back-up to our career counseling scheduling staff person and will participate in and contribute to events such as open houses and career fairs. Additionally, the person in this role will communicate with internal and external constituents via email messages, and will be required to utilize Microsoft Office and Symplicity, our Career Services Manager (CSM) system that maintains student appointments. Preference will be given to applicants possessing reception and front-line customer service experience via in-person and other communication technologies, with a commitment to diversity and a demonstrated ability to work constructively within a team environment.

Position typically requires a High School Diploma or higher plus one year or more of related experience. For full consideration, candidates must submit a cover letter and a resume.
