JOB OVERVIEW • Job Title: Neonatologist • Job Type: Locum Tenens • Location: Woodbridge, VA • Service Setting: Hospital • Coverage Type: Clinical Only • Coverage Period: July 6, 2026 – Ongoing • Clinical Shift Schedule: Night shifts, 4:00 PM – 8:00 AM (16-hour shifts) COVERAGE DATES • July 6, 2026 – Ongoing PATIENT INFORMATION • Patient Demographics: Neonates • Patient Volume/Census: Nursery 8–10 patients per day; Level II NICU 2–4 patients per day • Admissions: Yes • Rounding: Included • Case Mix: Level II NICU and Level II Nursery FACILITY INFORMATION • Office Equipment Available: Standard NICU and nursery equipment • Specialty Backup Available: Neonatologist backup from home • Support Staff Available: Neonatologists (daytime), NNPs (night coverage) • Reason for Coverage: Supplemental Coverage PRIVILEGES & COMPLIANCE • Hospital Privileges Required: Yes (facility and main system credentialing required) • Credentialing Timeline: Approximately 3 months COMPENSATION & BENEFITS • Travel, Lodging, and Malpractice Insurance: Covered (per facility guidelines) REQUIRED PROCEDURES • Neonatal resuscitation • Attendance at deliveries • Management of Level II NICU patients JOB REQUIREMENTS • Licenses: Active VA license required • Board: Board Certified or Board Eligible in Neonatology • Experience: Required experience in Level II NICU • Other Qualifications: Ability to manage neonatal patients independently with remote backup DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES • Provide overnight care for Level II NICU and nursery patients • Attend and manage deliveries as needed • Collaborate with neonatologists and NNPs for patient care • Perform neonatal assessments and develop treatment plans • Maintain accurate and timely medical documentation Top Reasons to Choose a Locum Tenens Assignment Benefit from steady income streams and potentially higher rates, mitigating financial uncertainties and instability.
