Job Description:

MedStar Health seeks a dedicated Occupational Therapist (OT) for a per diem homecare role in St. Mary’s County. This position entails providing personalized healthcare to patients in their homes, focusing on improving their functional capabilities and helping them adapt to physical and mental challenges. The role demands a compassionate approach, with a strong emphasis on patient education and rehabilitation management. Conduct patient assessments to determine their functional status and establish therapy goals. Provide therapy interventions to improve patient's ability to perform daily activities. Develop and oversee individualized care plans in collaboration with the healthcare team. Educate patients and families on treatment strategies and home safety. Document patient care and outcomes to ensure the continuity of care. Adjust treatment plans as necessary to match patient progress and needs. Ability to provide expert home health therapy care Excellent interpersonal and communication skills Strong organizational skills and attention to detail Capacity for compassionate care and patient education Proficiency in using healthcare documentation software Medical Insurance Valid occupational therapist license in the state of Maryland. Current CPR certification.
