MedStar Health, a leading non-profit healthcare organization based in the DMV area, is seeking a dedicated Clinical Pharmacist to join our evening team. This role focuses on providing top-notch pharmaceutical care in a dynamic healthcare setting, ensuring the safe and effective use of medications for our diverse patient population. As part of our commitment to patient-first healthcare, the successful candidate will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to optimize medication therapy and contribute to the overall clinical outcomes and patient satisfaction. Review, process, and dispense medications according to physician orders and established policies. Provide drug information and education to patients, healthcare professionals, and students. Monitor drug therapy regimens for contraindications, drug-drug interactions, drug-food interactions, allergies, and appropriateness of drug and dose. Partake in the development and implementation of medication management programs. Attend to medication-related queries and concerns during evening hours, ensuring optimal patient care and safety. Manage high-alert medications and double-check chemotherapy doses. Work closely with a team of pharmacists and pharmacy technicians to ensure smooth workflow and effective communication. Strong knowledge of pharmacotherapy and clinical pharmacy practices. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment. Proficient in using electronic health record (EHR) systems. Medical Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance Life Insurance 401k Current and active Pharmacist licensure in the state of practice. Board of Pharmacy Specialties certification preferred (e.g., BCPS - Board Certified Pharmacotherapy Specialist).
