Registered Nurse (RN) | Neonatal Intensive Care Unit Location: Bel Air, MD Agency: Cynet Health Pay: $2,198 per week Shift Information: Days - 3 days x 12 hours Contract Duration: 13 Weeks Start Date: 3/9/2026 About the Position Job Title: Special Care Nursery Registered Nurse Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: NICU Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: 2 years of NICU experience required; may consider first-time travelers with strong experience, including NICU experience. License: Active state RN license required Certifications: BLS, NRP, STABLE Must-Have: NICU experience is required for this role. Description: The role involves working in the Special Care Nursery. This position requires providing immediate newborn care that includes Apgar scores. There is a requirement for every other weekend and holiday coverage as scheduled. The nurse will be responsible for a range of patient populations and diagnoses, including preterm infants and those requiring transitional care. The nursing staff will monitor and provide supportive care, oxygen therapy, IV therapy, and medication administration for conditions such as NAS. Procedures include blood transfusion and UV line placement for extremely premature infants prior to transfer to higher levels of care. Special equipment used includes IV pumps, enteral feeding pumps, Giraffe/Panda warmers, breastmilk warmers, and med dispensing systems. The nursing ratios will vary based on the stage of care provided, from 1:1 during active labor to a maximum of 1:4 for post-partum care. Candidates must be comfortable floating within the specialty as required. Flexibility in scheduling is necessary as block scheduling is not available.
