nights On Call: requiredMUST be Level III NICU nurses who can do
vents, oscillators, pressors, and micro preemies. STABLE, NRP, BLS
- Required Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in
state/district - Required NICU Experience - Required: 3 Years\"??
Neonates are primarily admitted from the labor and delivery. ?? The
NICU patient population ranges from as early as 23 weeks gestation
to 4 months.??? NICU respond to neonatal emergencies providing
assessment and immediate care to newborns post delivery needing
closer observation and attend all C-sections and high-risk
deliveries.??? Conditions treated on the unit may include, but are
not limited to: extreme prematurity, respiratory distress syndrome,
sepsis, hypoglycemia, congenital anomalies, seizures, and meconium
aspiration syndrome.??? Services provided include: noninvasive
nasal CPAP, mechanical ventilation, including High Frequency
Oscillation and nitric oxide inhalation therapy.??? Nurses assist
in performing bedside procedures that include peripheral IV
insertion, septic workups, intubations, percutaneous catheter
insertions, parenteral therapy, blood and blood products,
administration, bronchopulmonary hygiene, medication
administration, monitoring of vital signs and parent teaching. Most
diagnostic services are provided at the bedside.??? 3 plus years of
