Doctor of Medicine | Hematology and Oncology Location: Towson, MD Employer: Adelphi Locums Pay: Competitive weekly pay (inquire for details) Start Date: ASAP About the Position JOB OVERVIEW Job Title: Physician Hematology/Oncology Job Type: Locum Tenens Location: Towson, MD Service Setting: Inpatient & Outpatient Hospital Coverage Type: Clinical Call Coverage Period: December 5, 2025 Ongoing Clinical Shift Schedule: MonThurs, 8:30a4:00p On-Call Shift Schedule: One weekday night call every 4th weekend (Fri 8aMon 8a) Call Type: In-House; Telephone Call Ratio: 1:4 weekends Call Response Time: 30 minutes Callback Rate: Approx. 5 admissions per night on call COVERAGE DATES Starting December 5, 2025 Ongoing assignment, long-term preferred PATIENT INFORMATION Patient Demographics: Adult only (100%) Patient Volume/Census: 1215 patients per day (mix of new and follow-up visits) Admissions: Yes inpatient oncology consults and follow-ups Rounding: Included Phone Consults: Yes Case Mix: General Hematology and Oncology FACILITY INFORMATION No. of Beds in Department: 221 Trauma Level: N/A EMR System: EPIC Beacon Specialty Backup Available: APP team for inpatient coverage Support Staff Available: Inpatient APP during normal hours Reason for Coverage: Turnover vacancy (replacing departing provider) PRIVILEGES & COMPLIANCE Hospital Privileges Required: Yes Temporary Privileges Available: Yes Credentialing Timeline: 60 days COMPENSATION & BENEFITS Travel, Lodging, and Malpractice Insurance: Covered Workstation: Provided on-site REQUIRED PROCEDURES General oncology and hematology consultations Chemotherapy management and inpatient follow-ups Coordination of care with oncology APP team JOB REQUIREMENTS Licenses: Active MD license or IMLC accepted Board: Board Certified in Hematology & Oncology DEA: Required Certifications: BLS Experience: Minimum 3 years post-training Other Qualifications: EPIC experience required DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES Provide outpatient clinic coverage 4 days/week (MonThurs) Manage inpatient consults and follow-up oncology patients Take one weekday call per week and 24-hour weekend call every 4th weekend Round on admitted patients and coordinate with APP support Participate in multidisciplinary cancer care team
