Title: Registered Nurse – Pediatric Stepdown Location: Baltimore,
MD 21209 Contract Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day: 3x12-Hour (09:00 -
19:30) / Night: 3x12-Hour (19:00 - 07:30) Weekly Breakdown: Weekly
Gross: $2,260.00 Per Week On W2(Taxable): $720.00 Per Week
Stipend(Non-Taxable): $1,540.00 Per Week Position Overview: The
Pediatric Stepdown RN will work in a mixed-rehab pediatric unit
providing care to patients with varying degrees of acuity. The unit
serves children and adolescents requiring complex post-surgical,
respiratory, and trauma-related care. The unit is not a PCU, but
trach and ventilator experience is required. First-time travelers
are accepted. Key Responsibilities: Deliver nursing care to
pediatric and adolescent patients with conditions including
traumatic brain injuries, spinal cord injuries, GSWs, burns,
failure to thrive, cerebral palsy, spina bifida, and
post-orthopedic surgery. Manage respiratory needs including
ventilator and tracheostomy care. Implement feeding interventions,
including gavage, oral, and nasogastric tube feeding. Collaborate
with interdisciplinary teams including PT/OT/ST, respiratory,
pharmacy, and radiology. Maintain documentation, infection control,
and wound care standards. Float as required within the hospital and
to lower acuity units as needed. Required Qualifications:
Experience: Minimum 2 years of pediatric nursing experience
Certifications: BLS (American Heart Association – required) CPI
(Calm Every Storm – preferred) Skills: IV therapy and phlebotomy
Central and peripheral line care Tracheostomy and ventilator
management Oxygen delivery systems Wound assessment/care
(preferred) Infection prevention and isolation protocols Travel
Experience: Not required Teaching Hospital Experience: Preferred
