Job Description & Requirements - Specialty: PCU - Progressive Care Unit - Discipline: RN - Start Date: 07/21/2025 - Duration: 10 weeks - 36 hours per week - Shift: 12 hours, days - Employment Type: Travel Registered Nurse – Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Location: LBH – Northwest Hospital, 5401 Old Court Rd, Randallstown, MD 21133 Start Date: July 21, 2025 Contract Duration: 14 Weeks Shift: 3x12-Hour Days (07:00 AM – 7:30 PM) Facility Type: Acute Care Hospital Unit: 2C/2D PCU (5000-8370) Beds on Unit: 40 Daily Census: 36 Overview: LifeBridge Health’s Northwest Hospital is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) to join their Progressive Care Unit (PCU) for a 14-week travel assignment. This is a fast-paced, dynamic environment offering experience in advanced cardiac monitoring and intermediate care, with a nurse-to-patient ratio typically of 1:4 (may flex to 1:5 depending on acuity). Key Responsibilities: - Deliver direct nursing care in a 40-bed PCU with a focus on cardiac telemetry, respiratory support, and progressive step-down care. - Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms, manage non-titratable drips, and respond as part of the Code and Rapid Response Team. - Care for patients with complex conditions such as CHF, COPD, MI, Sepsis, Pneumonia, GI Bleed, Stroke, ETOH Withdrawal, and Renal Failure. - Administer heparin protocols, IV insulin, blood products, and maintain central and PICC lines. - Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including IV teams, respiratory therapy, pharmacy, PT, and radiology to support patient recovery. - Float to other medical-surgical units (non-tele) as needed (ratio: 1:6). - Utilize Cerner EMR system for accurate documentation and care coordination. Required Qualifications: - Minimum 2 years of PCU/Telemetry experience. - Active and valid Maryland or Compact RN license (must be in-hand at submission). - Current AHA BLS, ACLS, NIHSS certifications. - Completion of 4-hour annual Stroke CEUs and Prophecy/Relias Advanced EKG module. - Able to float within the hospital and to like units as needed. - Willingness to work every other weekend.
