Apply Today!Job Summary and QualificationsWe are looking for a compassionate and reliable OR Surgical Technologist to provide technical support to patients of all populations.   • You will assist circulating nurse in setting up room ensuring presence and proper functioning of all necessary equipment and instruments.
  • You will participate in sponge, needle and instrument counts, readies sutures and passes all instruments, equipment, sponges, medications, etc. to surgeons and assistants as needed and/or requested.
  • You will pass specimen from surgeon to circulating nurse. Responsible for specimen while on field.
  • You will perform related duties including but not limited to: assist in cleaning and stocking; picking cases for next day; housekeeping duties; and attending staff meetings. Directly involved in room turnover between cases.
  • You will work as a collaborative member of the OR team.
  • Demonstrates ability to adjust to different situations at any given time.
  • Anticipate needs of surgical team on field.
  • Takes direction from circulating nurse. What qualifications you will need:
    • Completion of a Surgical Technician Course
    • Must hold a current Surgical Technologist Certification and License through the Commonwealth of Virginia
    • Two years OR scrubbing experience preferred, previous CVOR experience also preferred
    • Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date has provided quality healthcare services since 1986.
