Property Management Accountant
Hanover, PA

We are currently looking for an experienced Property Management Accountant for a Client in the Hanover, PA area.
Ensures all transactions related to the portfolio of properties are recorded accurately and reported on a timely basis. Applies solid accounting skills and experience to include financial reporting, assisting with audits, and specialized projects. Uses established accounting principles to work under supervision and to consistently produce a high-quality and accurate work product. Develops an in depth understanding of the Burkentine management process and develops analytical reports to ensure the company meets its goals and objectives. Develops and implement changes to simplify and improve the overall accuracy of our reporting.

Essential Functions / Major Responsibilities of Property Management Accountant

  • Prepare final monthly financial reporting in accordance with deadlines and requirements.
  • Reconcile bank statements by comparing statements with general ledger.
  • Tracking lender reporting requirements.
  • Assist and coordinate audit information and requests.
  • Supporting the Accounts Payable department.
  • Preparing and posting journal entries as required.
  • Assisting with various administrative tasks and projects as assigned.
  • Researching problems as required.
  • Continually improve the automation of the accounting and reporting process.
  • Follow established Company policies and procedures.
  • Any other task as assigned.

    Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

    • Ability to accurately calculate and interpret financial data.
    • Ability to self-solve and think critically.
    • Ability to identify and adapt to the needs of the organization and team members.
    • Strong prioritization skills.
    • Communicate using the following tools: telephone, fax machine, written logs, email, and computer.
    • Having a working knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite of Products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) QuickBooks.
    • Proficiency with ERP accounting systems, Yardi highly desired

      Other Qualifications:

      • Must have a valid driver's license.
      • Must have a bachelor's degree in Accounting/Finance.
      • 6+ years experience in Property Management Accounting required.
      • Ability to prepare project budgets and financial forecasts.
      • Knowledge of Yardi highly preferred
