Technology Solutions is seeking a Venafi Engineer for a great
opportunity in the National Capitol region!Job Description:The
Venafi Engineer should feel comfortable optimizing the Venafi
implementation while collaborating with cross-functional teams to
enhance DHS' overall security posture. This role is part of a team
of Infrastructure Automation Engineers working to define, develop,
and manage strategies that reduce risk and improve resiliency.The
Venafi Engineer will:
- Serve as the main point of contact for the Venafi solution
- Design, implement, and maintain the Venafi infrastructure
- Manage the lifecycle of digital certificates and cryptographic
keys
- Develop, recommend, and enforce policies for machine identity
management
- Integrate Venafi solutions with existing security tools and
infrastructure
- Troubleshoot issues related to certificate management and
PKI
- Document and map the architecture of current certificate
management, PKI, and specifically the use of Venafi in the
environment
- Support the development of a Security Engineering Tool
roadmap
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance overall
security posture through automation
- Stay current with emerging security technologies and industry
trends to recommend improvements or additions.Required
Qualifications:
- Ability to attain DHS EOD
- ITIL V4 Foundations certification (or obtain in first 6
months)
- BA/BS or equivalent +10 years of experience
- 8 or more years of hands-on experience in enterprise IT
support
- Significant experience in cybersecurity, with strong hands-on
experience in access management and network security
- Strong knowledge of the Venafi product suite and significant
experience managing/administering the solution
- Strong knowledge of PKI, SSL/TLS, and digital certificate
management
- Proficient in scripting languages (Python, PowerShell) for
automation and integration
- Experience working with and guiding technicians with varying
skill levels and supporting end users remotely
- Experience with security tools and technologies, like SIEM,
IDS/IPS, and firewalls
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, particularly in
optimizing security workflows
- Professional, customer-oriented, and even-keeled under
pressure
- Effective communicator at all levels, both written and
verbalPreferred Qualifications:
- Significant experience with DevOps practice and tools
- Knowledge of HSM technologies and key management systems
- Cybersecurity relevant certification Security +, CEH, GPEN,
OSEP, Information Systems Security Engineering Professional
