Job Description Job Description Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1 years Special Education Teacher experience required. A full-time Special Education Teacher position is available in Salem, OR for the 2023-2024 school year, with a contract running through June 5, 2026. This onsite role supports K-12 students with diverse special education needs and offers six openings in various specialized settings. Openings include: Elementary Developmental Program (15 students) focusing on behavioral, ASD, and communication needs, supported by 6 assistants Elementary Behavior Program (Grades 3-5; 16 students) supported by 5 assistants Middle School Resource Room (40 students) with 2 shared assistants Elementary Resource Program at two sites located 2 miles apart (35 students) with one assistant at each building Middle School Behavior Program (15 students) with 5 assistants Key Responsibilities: Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) tailored to each student's unique needs Collaborate with assistants and other educational staff to provide consistent support and progress monitoring Utilize behavioral strategies and communication techniques to support students with ASD and behavioral challenges Maintain detailed records and provide regular updates on student progress Foster a positive, inclusive classroom environment that promotes learning and growth Qualifications: Active Special Education certification/license in Oregon is required Experience working with students with behavioral, developmental, and communication needs Strong collaboration and communication skills for working with assistants, staff, and families Contact information for your most recent supervisor reference must be provided for consideration This is a 37.5-hour per week, full-time position that requires onsite presence in Salem, OR.
