DESCRIPTION OF WORK
This position participates in training opportunities hosted by a variety of sources with specialized industry expertise and independent study resources to facilitate your work in the application of accounting principles and in the review of financial statements and related documents to determine compliance with Pennsylvania insurance laws, regulations, and policies. You will learn various operational and technical components of financial analysis; learn to interpret findings, evaluate and analyzes results from information provided by companies; and develop an understanding of insurance operations, risk assessment, risk management/mitigation techniques, and transactions. Work Schedule and Additional Information:Full-time employmentWork hours are 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM, or 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, or 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM; all Monday - Friday, with a 60-minute lunch.Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time, up to three days per week. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg.Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $50,836.You will receive further communication regarding this position via email. REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY
QUALIFICATIONSMinimum Experience and Training Requirements:A bachelor's degree in insurance, accounting, finance, economics, business administration, risk-management, or a closely related field, which includes 15 college credits in accounting, finance, or auditing; or An equivalent combination of experience and training which includes 15 college credits in accounting, finance, or auditing. Applicants will be considered to have met the educational requirements once they are within three months of graduating with a qualifying degree.
