Founded in 1976, headquartered in Taneytown, Maryland, EVAPCO products are engineered and manufactured in 23 locations in 10 countries and supplied through a sales network of more than 170 offices.Responsibilities:1.Compile and analyze financial information to prepare monthly financial statements2.Ensure financial records are maintained in compliance with accepted policies and procedures3.Analyze, reconcile, research, and pay commissions monthly to sales representatives.4.Ensure an accurate and timely month end and year end close processes5.Manage intercompany accounts, invoicing and reporting6.Reconcile general ledger accounts on a monthly basis7.Assist with compiling annual US audit information8.Supports budgeting and forecasting activities9.Prepare and file sales and use tax returns using Avalara Tax software program10.Review tax exemption certificates11.Monitor requirements for and prepare reporting of sales and use taxation including being lead audit support for sales and use tax audits12.Support Controller with special projects and workflow process improvements.13.Review contracts for assessing revenue recognition in accordance with US GAAP14.Manage personnel as part of their duties15.Assist with the implementation of a new order management system for accounting16.Assist in the development of policies and procedures17.Various special projects and ad hoc reporting as needed18.Willingness to travel to various locations19.Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities, reading professional publications, maintaining personal networks and participating in professional organizationsQualifications:1.Bachelor's Degree in Accounting2.Master's or CPA preferred, not required3.Minimum 3 years of experience in accounting4.Strong verbal and written communication skills.5.Knowledge of applicable sales and use tax laws, codes and regulations, preferred.6.Must be highly skilled in use of MS Office, especially Excel Spreadsheets7.Experience with tax software, preferred8.Must have an excellent work ethic, including a willingness to work the hours necessary to meet deadlines9.Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously10.Willingness and ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with individuals at all levels of the organization11.Strong organizational and analytical skills
